Michigan Occupational Injury Rates Continue to Decline
The number of workers in Michigan injured on the job continues its 20-year trend of decline, according to a recent report released by the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA). According to numbers released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Occupational Injury and Illness Rate in Michigan fell to 3.1 cases per 100 workers, down from 3.3 for the year prior.
Worker health and safety training has no doubt played a lead role in reducing the injury rate of Michigan workers.
Safety training can be overwhelming. CFR can refresh your safety training program with a variety of topics, including hazard communication, personal protective equipment (PPE) including respirator fit testing, powered industrial trucks, control of hazardous energy (lockout/tagout) and permit-required confined spaces to name just a few. Training can be scheduled on-site at any time that works with your employee shift schedules.
CFR Environmental performs health and safety training and audits to assist companies in ensuring compliance with the requirements established by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Michigan OSHA (MIOSHA) for their activities and operations. OSHA requires that employers provide training to workers who face hazards on the job. The CFR Environmental health and safety audit will assist you in understanding your OSHA training obligations.
One of the benefits to performing an annual health and safety audit is the reinforcement of a company’s commitment to safety.
